Toronto-based Slate Office Real Estate Investment Trust is buying its second building in Chicago, a move that comes as the founding partners of the REIT's largest shareholder continue to eye the Midwest city.
The REIT said it had agreed to buy 120 S. LaSalle St. and the adjacent parking garage in downtown Chicago for US$155.5 million, a price it said is significantly below replacement cost.
